Apprenticeship Careers Australia (ACA) are seeking mature, dedicated, and enthusiastic individuals to undertake a Diploma in School Based Education Support. 

Previous experience is not essential as we are seeking applicants that have the right attitude, are dependable, reliable, with a strong work ethic and a willingness to learn.

As an Early childhood Educator Trainee, you will work as part of a passionate team supporting young children and providing Before and After School Care and Holiday Programs with in a Primary School.

This is a fantastic opportunity for individuals that are looking to commence primary school education, to gain invaluable hands-on practical experience, and complete a nationally recognised qualification in School Based Education Support.

Role Description:

The successful candidate will be employed by ACA and will undertake a 24-month part-time traineeship (20 hours per week), working on-site with our host employer at a Primary School located in Emerald. You will complete a Diploma in School Based Education Support. 

Duties include:

  • Play games and run activities displaying your strong communication and time management skills.
  • Mentor, guide and empower young people in a caring, warm, and friendly way 
  • Be able to provide the highest standard of service to support young people 
  • Foster a happy and engaging environment that is inclusive and accounts for the needs of children
  • Maintain accurate records and observations
  • Maintain a safe and clean workspace
  • At times, assist children/teens with meal preparation and meal consumption and hygiene requirements
  • Be willing to undertake ongoing training and development including specialist training for supporting children with complex needs
  • Attend external and internal meetings, workshops and RTO training as required
  • Other duties as directed

Candidate Requirements:

  • Australian Citizen or Permanent Resident
  • Willing to commit to completing a Diploma in School Based Education Support. 
  • Demonstrate cooperation, respect, consideration, and tact in dealing with others 
  • Aptitude for working and communicating effectively with young children 
  • Ability to prioritise requirements

Candidates must have, or be willing to obtain:

  • Working With Children Check
  • First Aid Certificate
