Apprenticeship Careers Australia is thrilled to offer a Painting and Decorating Apprenticeship located in the Wollongong area that will kickstart your journey into the world of interior and exterior excellence.

This exciting opportunity allows you to gain real work experience working alongside qualified tradespeople in the industry and learn all there is to know about the trade, so you can become a qualified tradesperson by the end of the apprenticeship!

This is an entry-level role targeted for a school leaver! 

DUTIES WILL INCLUDE

  • Preparing surfaces by removing old paint, filling holes, and washing walls.
  • Applying primer, undercoats, and finishing coats using brushes, rollers, and spray equipment.
  • Maintaining a clean work environment, including cleaning tools and equipment.
  • Assisting in the selection and ordering of painting materials.
  • Working safely with ladders, scaffolding, and other equipment.
  • Learning advanced painting techniques, including decorative finishes and textures.

APPRENTICESHIP INFORMATION

During the duration of the apprenticeship is (48-months) you will be working full-time (38 hours per week), Monday to Friday learning all the skills of the trade within the working environment. 

You and will attend TAFE for three years, where you will learn theory and practical areas within the trade to gain a Certificate III in Painting and Decorating and be a qualified tradesperson at the completion of your apprenticeship. 

 

POTENTIAL CAREER PATHWAYS AFTER APPRENTICESHIP

Once you have completed your apprenticeship, you will be a qualified Painter and Decorator. This qualification can provide a pathway to owning your own business in the industry or moving into roles such as: Specialist Painter, Colour Consultant, Estimator, or Site Supervisor.

CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS 

  • Must be an Australian Citizen, Permanent Resident or New Zealand Citizen
  • Drivers Licence (Provisional licence minimum) requirement
  • Your own vehicle is required
