Role Description

Apprenticeship Careers Australia has a great opportunity for a great candidate looking to commence this hands-on traineeship, where they will play a vital role in water treatment plant operations, sample collection, and maintenance, all while developing essential skills to thrive in the world of water management at Goulburn Mulwaree Council.

 

DUTIES WILL INCLUDE 
Sample Collection and Laboratory Analysis: Contribute to the monitoring of water quality through the collection of samples and engaging in laboratory analysis, applying attention to detail in every step.

Diagnose Plant Problems: Develop problem-solving skills as you diagnose issues within the plant and implement corrective measures to ensure seamless operations.

Minor Mechanical Repairs: Gain hands-on experience by performing minor mechanical repairs, ensuring the proper functioning of equipment and machinery.

Supervise Contractors and Routine Maintenance: Oversee contractors, ensuring compliance with safety standards, and actively participate in routine maintenance to uphold the efficiency of water treatment processes.

Equipment Cleaning and Servicing: Take responsibility for the cleaning and servicing of equipment, promote a safe and hygienic working environment.

 

TRAINEESHIP INFORMATION
This traineeship opportunity will last a duration of 24-months. During the time of the traineeship you will be working full-time (38 hours per week), Monday to Friday where you will be trained and mentored in your job role.

During your working week you will be allocated 3 hours paid study to work toward completing your Certificate III Water Industry Operations - Water Treatment.

 

CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS 

  • Must be an Australian Citizen, Permanent Resident or New Zealand Citizen
  • Must have a provisional drivers licence as a minimum 
  • Must have your own reliable vehicle 
  • Must be willing to undertake a pre-employment medical 
  • Must not have any previous qualifications exceeding a Certificate III in Water Industry Operations - Water Treatment.
